I am considering selling a beautiful o/u shotgun on here but not sure about legality. Do I need a registered firearms license to sell a gun through this forum or just to ship one. Or can I sell one on here and ship it through my local gun shop which is already registered? any answers will be appreciated.

Re: question about selling o/u
you can ship it yourself UPS or USPS (- there are instructions on the USPS and UPS websites about this -) but you need to ship it to a FFL that will accept non-ffl to ffl transfers. Your buyer will then go to that FFL, fill out the paperwork, pay that particular ffl's transfer fee and he should be on his way if he passes.
Go to gunbroker.com - there is a ton of info on how to ship and sell.
just remember - you must ship the firearm to a FFL. Have your seller find the FFL that will accept the non-ffl shipment, have him fax or mail a copy of the FFL to you so you can verify to yourself that you are doing it all by the book. I have bought and sold numerous shotguns over the last 2 years this way. Handguns are a totally different issue and you can't ship one. They must go ffl to ffl.

You can sell a long gun face to face with another from your state without doing the transfer.

Yuup no big deal shipping firearms, gunsamerica has a whole lot of ffl holders also to help. Last time i shipped i could have sworn i had to have paperwork to send it. May have been the buyers ffl. Its been a while. I still regret selling my Arietta custom.
