Lost a good one today.

Post by Garrison » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:50 pm

I lost my little pup Waylon today. He broke after a rabbit and I couldn't get a handle on him. He had his collar on and I got no response after multiple attempts to turn him. He crossed a road about 500 yards away and got hit by a passing car. I have had many dogs but never one so eager to please and that made me so happy every time I watched him run. Every part of me feels absolutely horrible, sad sad day.

Sorry for your loss!! Anything can happen at any time with these dogs, and even though we know this, it is never easy.

Garrison,
So, sorry for your loss. That is just a horrible thing to have to witness. Keeping you in our thoughts. What a great looking dog, and sounded like a good pup.

That is a hard one to just swallow and forget. May be a reminder to all of us to at least check and make sure our collars are working when we turn them loose. Just can't guarantee a thing with our dogs but ..........................

I am so sorry. That really bothers me. Time will help the heartache but we never forget. Everytime I let a dog off the leash I wonder if he'll be coming home - roads, train tracks, coyotes , partially iced over ponds etc.I'm very sorry.

This post broke my heart. So very sorry for your loss. Looks like such a sweet dog. I have a setter about that age and can't imagine how hard that would be. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

But...............could of been prevented if you were as old and wise as Ezzy. I did check the collar as always and have thought of the other 100 things I probably could of done to avoid the unfortunate accident since I had to gather my pup up and bury him under the oak tree. Great post and impeccable timing, you are a true class act in every sense.

Thank you to everyone else your thoughts and condolences are comforting as I know many of you care for your animal as much as I did mine.
