Everything just fell into place!

Post by Karen » Thu Mar 01, 2012 8:25 am

A FB "friend" posted a picture of a puppy bitch she was looking for a home for (she was the stud puppy...sold, returned because she was too active, and now looking for a new home).

I just fell in love with her pictures...really nice conformation, Chilcote on top (in fact her great grandfather is Blaze's father, so she should cross really nicely with Forrest in a few years)...but I'm in PA, she's in MS. Turns out she's 3 hours south of Ames...and the AKC Gun Dog Championship is going on this now...and I have friends down there running dogs!

So Jenny's breeder is dropping her off with my friends next week in Grand Junction, TN! They're going to hold onto her for 10 days, and we'll meet up at a field trial in MD on 3/17!

So the new member to the Woodland Brittanys line-up is Jenny! Woodland's Spirit of Big Oaks...I can't wait for her arrival!

Here's a picture of her working birds for the first time this past weekend (her breeders run a hunting presever in MS). She's not quite 4 months old.

Nice! Ain't it great when a plan comes together!.. Can never get enough of good looking pups... 8)

Good looking little dog (said with just a touch of envy). Sure would be nice if people did a little research into breed characteristics before they got a pup. But this definitely work out for you and the pup.
Why own a dog? There's a danger you know,

You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.

There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger.

While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger.

Thanks guys! I figured if I could make arrangements in less than an hour's time to get a puppy from Mississippi to NE PA, it's meant to be!

I swore I'd never field trial a bitch again....but I just might have to make an exception for this little girl.

She looks like a good one. Love the angulation in the rear. She should be able to run. If you change your mind I'll take her.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Yeah, what he said. I would love to have a little 20lb to 25lb britt.

Congrats on the new addition and I'm glad everything worked out so smoothly for you. It doesn't seem to happen very often.

She is a good looking little pup. She looks just like my very first owned Brittany, Hardwood Addie.

Jenny arrived yesterday and I now understand why she was returned to her breeder. This little lady is a whirlwind! She wore out our two six month old puppies last night! She rarely stops moving, and she NEVER walks anywhere! She's fearless, bold, super friendly, yet did all the right things to make friends with the adult dogs in the house. The alpha bitch (Tessa) grumbled quited a bit last night, but Jenny had her playing this morning also.

So my 1st floor is now protected by x-pens and baby gates again, until we figure out where she is with her housebreaking and train her to respect the scat mats, but she is just ADORABLE!

That last photo reminds me of a photo in "The Springer Bark" years ago. They were talking about dog's living in the house, think it was Chris Christenson or his wife. They showed a poto of Christenson's dog s on the couch in the house, couch was completely full! I like that but I guess it's not for everybody. Kinda cool' a two time Nat Fld Ch, Dewfield Brickclose Flint, a Nat Ama Fl Ch, Misty Muffet, and a bunch of field ch's and young dogs! If I remember right the article was about weather it was a good idea to keep trial dogs in the house! Question answered!

That really is a nice looking pup!
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Great looking Pup! She is in the right place now. Atleast the first owners had the courage to take her back to where she could end up in the right home! instead of another unreliable home. She will no doubt turn into somthing great!
Best of Luck!

Karen,
Great looking FB pup, congrats on picking up a fine gun dog, you got to bring that little girl up to our place and let her
point some Potter County, Pa Grouse, after you get her use to her new home.

Thanks guys!

I'm buying all my future pups at 4 months old! Gotta love finding out they're TOTALLY housebroken when they arrive!! Not a single accident in the house, learned how to use the dog door in hours and was loose with the pack on day 2.

Here's a picture of her last weekend enjoying the nice MD weather!
