Pigeons

Post by spottebaum1 » Sat Apr 14, 2012 4:32 pm

Anyone on here know where I can get some pigeons for training here in Iowa. I can't trap them anymore cause a buddy of mine was fined for that, the dnr told him since there is a season on pigeons he could not trap them.

Sounds like your buddy should hire an attorney and sue the IDNR. Feral Pigeons are considered an invasive species by the FEDS.

There's a lot of difference between Rock Doves that we call feral pigeons and wild band tail pigeons. I'd presue that too.
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Shawn, Shawn, Shawn you listening to Dan again?

The Britt sure has grown.

Whoever the friend might be I'd be curious to know the code that they put down as the violation.

I assume that netting is trapping.

There is a season, but this is below it in the fine print. Now whether it applies to shooting or trapping live, I wouldn't have a clue.
4 Within 100 yards of buildings and bridges, pigeons may be taken year round
