Off To North Dakota...

Post by tthaden » Sat Apr 28, 2012 9:17 am

Well I accepted a new postion within my company. I am going to be the parts manager for our terminal in Stanley, North Dakota. YES I said North Dakota. The oppurtuinty AND money were to good to pass up. I start up there on May 7th. I will not be totally moving up there at this time. I will be keeping my acreage. I have made arrangements with all my dogs and horses to be farmed out. I am excited for this new chapter. I have been dispatching for 20 years, working weekends and on call every night. This new job, 8-5, no nights and no weekends. AND with the extra pay... NO MORE PART TIME JOBS!! I have been working 3 jobs the past 6 yrs and am glad to say goodbye to them!! Yippee!!! I am just a few miles from some great fisheries and the hunting up there is out of this world. I am taking this next week off to get all my ducks in a row. Gonna be busy and it will go by too fast. You all take care!

I'm definitely jealous...stuck here in the middle of corn and bean fields. Good luck in your new adventure!

Glad this is working out for you. Perhaps we will see each other in ND later this year.

Tim,

Hopefully you can find reasonably priced housing with all those guys working the oil fields looking far & wide for a place to sleep.

The job change & location sound too good to be true! Good luck with the new job.

Good luck on your new adventure. The pheasant hunting is excellent. What a Out doors-mans paradise.

Welcome to ND!

I hope you have housing lined up or the company is providing it for you. Not too much in Stanley and prices are sky high anywhere in western ND. We are even having shortages in Bismarck, there is a 1% vacancy rate here.

I lived in Stanley for a couple of years, you'll love the hunting there. Duck hunting is very very good and dont have to travel far for ringnecks either!!
