When mine was younger it would only stay swollen for one - two weeks after and back to normal. The last one almost lasted three to four weeks.

It sucks when they come in.... I think it will be my first and last female.....

Mine is 14 mos old and wondering if she will ever come into heat. I have been told it is not that uncommon for them to not cycle early, but I figured she would have come in by now.

Mine came in first at 15 months, and had a real easy light heat cycle with barely any swelling at all. I thought she was done, and then about a month later, she started again and this time was heavy and very swollen. She stopped bleeding a few days ago, and then swelling has subsided substantially already. Definitely ready for this first one to be over.
