VFW Post 3179 in Faulkton, SD is sponsoring a pheasant hunt for seriously wounded veterans. Services are free or at-cost. VFW's Military Assistance Program covers airfare, as well as hunting licenses. The dates for the hunt are Nov.4-10.
To qualify, a veteran must have enough upper body strength to wield a shotgun, but confinement to a wheelchair is not an obstacle.
Amputees are encouraged to apply for the trip. Applicants must possess a Purple Heart Citation.
Submit a copy of your DD214, as well as VA disability rating documents, personal contact information, war zone dates, units, and details of your wounds to:
