kennel set up

Post by Georgia Boy » Thu Jun 28, 2012 5:07 am

I am beginning to plan some kennel improvements and am looking for some input. 4 dog indoor - outdoor, not sure if I will do indoor "boxes" or a small fenced kennel area. Any suggestions, or for those of you that have a similiar set up things you would now do differently if you did one again?

Those are nice kennels, i like the indoor kennel shot. I have been thinking about a similar indoor setup but the drainage seems like its going to be my problem. I am thinking expanded metal and above ground floors. Looks like he has really nice setters as well.

Just got my 3 dog TK kennel setup finished and I'm very happy with the product and company - would definitely recommend them.

I have a half inch per foot slope. Its alot and the concrete guys thought i was nuts but its great everything runs off easily. I also have sidewalk finish. Keeps pads nice but i do have to use long handled scrub brush on it sometimes. Good traction and never slick. My kennels are 5 x 20 each. I just added two non concrete kennels so i have 6 now. Not sure my thoughts on the new ones yet.

I have four runs with K9-Condo's and drains for easy cleaning. Each run slopes to it's own drain that empties into a 50 gallon barrel. The barrel has holes in it and is surrounded by gravel.
This is pretty inexpensive and clean. As you will see the top of the barrel (septic) remains above ground for treatment and access should you need it.
