Indy (short for Independence)
Patty (for Patriot)
May (for Mayflower)
Nina
Pinta
Marina (for Santa Marina)
Lexi (Lexington)

I don't know why your wife did not like "firecracker" I think that is the perfect fourth of July big running dogs name.

Instead of going all patriotic like everyone else suggested why not name them all after cheap firecrackers:
High Cotton's TNT
High Cotton's Saturn Missile
High Cotton's Roman Candle
High Cotton's Bottle Rocket
