Oregon Summer

Post by Gertie » Sun Jul 08, 2012 1:15 pm

I've snapped some pictures over the past couple weeks and thought I'd share a few. It finally got hot here and we had to head to the lake this weekend. Hope y'all are keeping cool! 8)

Nice pictures. Looks like you don't have to worry about cheat grass or foxtail. Gerties all grown up.

Hey there Matt. There doesn't seem to be any nasty grasses out there yet. I feel pretty lucky to have a spot like that to train. I just have to be careful about when I go up there because a lot of folks get real nervous about the blank gun  Gert's definitely growing up on me. She surpassed my smarts several months ago. In fact, I think she only tolerates me because I chauffeur her around and put food in her dish. Hope you and Cage are lickin' a popsicle and keeping your feet cool  Take care.

Looks like the Cascade Lakes. Very pretty. The offer of the horse still stands for the fall.

Dig the photos, really beautiful. Where abouts in Oregon? You get any wild birds around your training grounds?

Good call. Elk Lake to be specific. A friend of mine has a cabin up there and was kind enough to invite me up for the weekend. As for your generous offer, I'm planning to take you up on it! I haven't seen that trial advertised yet but will sign up as soon as I see it. I'm really looking forward to it.

Central Oregon near Bend. There are some wild ruffed grouse and a few duskies out there but for the sake of reliability and convenience I use planted bob whites or pigeons.

Gotta love them Cascade Mountains and the critters that run around in them. Dogs and people.

Hope to see you and Gertie at a trial this fall.
