Up to my Ears in Pups!!!

My Dolly had 13 pups on July 2nd..... And my Lil had 8 pups on July 5th (Field-Bred Springers), so I'll be busy for a few weeks!!! All are doing well. I'm supplementing Dolly's litter to help her out a little....13 pups is really too much for one dog to feed. I usually don't have two litters at the same time, but it's been over a year since we had pups and I had a long waiting list so bred both dogs....timing was right also....the pups will be in their new homes by the time hunting season rolls around, so Lil and Dolly will get a lot of time in the field this fall. Dolly had 8 males and 5 females and Lil had 7 males and 1 female.....go figure. I'm gradually phasing out of breeding......been doing it for the past 24 years. This is Lil's last litter.... I'll probably breed Dolly two more times and that will be it.

We have one litter in our kitchen and the other in the living room..... Where I can keep an eye on them!!!

What a fine family. She looks a little nervous about the camera. I assume the stud was a black and white Springer.

I suppose there are a lot worse things to be up to your ears in :wink: I love that little black and white one on the lower right. He sleeps like I do after too much tequila :lol:

Yup....far worse things to be up to my ears in...... Being retired I have all the time in the world. Fun Time.....

Your hands are full.

I'd say the different mom expressions probably have something to do with the litter size!
