Puppy eating Earth worms

Post by Johng918 » Wed Aug 22, 2012 5:25 pm

I noticed little holes around my back yard so I've been working with my 15 week old GSP to correct the issue, So tonight I'm eating dinner looking out the back window and I see him by a little hole eating something so I start watching him he walks around with his nose too the ground stops digs a hole pulls out a earth worm plays with it for a second then eats it and starts looking for his next meal. Has anyone ever heard of a dog doing this? Should I be happy that he is using his nose to find things or worried his cheese has sled of his cracker?

Come to think about it, my GSP did that as well. I beleive she was about the same age, maybe a little older. I would rather her eat the earth worms than the siding on my house!!

I've got a 4 y.o. gsp who thinks the dried up ones on the driveway are the cats pajamas.

My gsp did the exact same thing but she grew out of it and moved onto ground moles.
