Singel engine aircraft travel

Post by zigzag » Sun Aug 26, 2012 6:59 pm

I was planing a trip with my father to some fly in fishing spots around Idaho Montana. We will be flying a Cessna 182 into the back country. My question is does anyone have experince flying in a small AC with a dog? If we could take my 1.5tr old Vizsla along it could be a blast.

Lori at www.wingshootingthewild.com can tell you how to cart them in a 185. Don't know what I did with the picture of 4 pointers and a lab in the back one time.

From researching it seems the noise could be a problem. My main concern is altitude and the dogs abilty to adjust to pressure changes. The plane does not have pressurized cabin, we have oxygen tanks for shorts flights above 11k. we would keep are altitude below 1Ok if the dog was on board.

Altitude is not a problem, just be prepared for LOTS of canine flatulence as you ascend. I don't worry too much about noise, but if you do: http://www.safeandsoundpets.com/index.html
