2012 elk and deer hunts

Post by Elkhunter » Thu Oct 04, 2012 2:17 pm

Spent the last 12 days chasing buglin bulls with my wife. Had a great time with her, she made a great shot on a solid bull, we saw some giants but just could not seal the deal on them.

We found this dude in a clearing and put the sneak on him, hit him at 91 yards.

Here is the wifes bull. She is one heck of a trooper, followed me around the Mtn for 7 days. Complained very little.

Damm Boy, you got the world by the tail. A nice mulely, a decent elk, and a wife who'll squeeze the trigger. Don't get much better. :D

Nice animals! My cousins son(he's 13) drew a utah elk tag, hunted weekend before last and killed a bull that scored 307,it was his first animal with antlers.I asked his dad if the kid realized................ it's all downhill from there.

That's a nice bull, your deer could use a little more mass though :) Congrats on the great animals.

Glad you posted pictures, Josh! I know you said they were big last night but man, a picture truly is worth a thousand words! That buck is THICK! And I would love to drop a bull like your wife's. Well done to both of you.
Peace, it's what's for dinner!

Thanks for the compliments, my wife was pretty impressive! She got up at 5 am every morning and hunted her butt off with me. We had some chances at some HUGE bulls but could not be happier with the experience.

The buck ended up scoring 196 5/8 and the bull scored right a 330. Great way to begin the fall and I am off to Wyoming to bird hunt tonight!

That is one monster of a mulie and a nice elk too! Most guys will hunt a lifetime and never see a mulie of that class. Little girl is a sweetheart. Great job!!!!!
