Garmin DC30 question
Garmin DC30 question
I have a new issue with 1 of my DC30 collars, and I can't get it working so I thought I'd see if anyone else has had this issue before contacting Garmin and sending it in for repair.
The collar will not communitcate with the handheld, on other issues I've simply remove the collar from the dog list then add a new collar. When I do this with this collar the handheld beeps like it's acquired the collar but I don't get a reading on it, just the ?. I even updated the software on the collar and it went through the entire process with no problems but I still only get the ?
Has anyone else come across this problem? or have any ideas for me to try?
thanks
Jeremy

Re: Garmin DC30 question
I was going to suggest that you update the software on the collar, but also update the handheld unit if you have not done it already.

Thanks for the idea, but I did do all of that - I should add, it's only 1 of my collars I've got others that work fine, and I have both 220 and 320 and the collar does the same thing on both.SetterNut wrote:I was going to suggest that you update the software on the collar, but also update the handheld unit if you have not done it already.
thanks again
Re: Garmin DC30 question
Before you send it in, spend anywhere from $5-20 for an after market antenna. Your antenna may have broke.
Gundogsupply.com has the tuff skin antenna I believe. That has good reviews.

Re: Garmin DC30 question
could I switch the antenna from a different working collar to check? and is there somewhere online that shows me the process for replacing the antenna?Az Draht wrote:Before you send it in, spend anywhere from $5-20 for an after market antenna. Your antenna may have broke.

Re: Garmin DC30 question
I switch...same thing, didn't work ...Garmin rebuilds them under $100....Was 80 couple years ago.
Had one with a broken antenna too.....signal close drops less than 100yds.
Does your 320 use more batts than the 220?.....I going thew batteries my 320.

Re: Garmin DC30 question
thanks - after switching antennas - it worked, so I'll order a new antenna,
I really haven't used the 330 enough to know about battery usage
