Peeing at night

Post by dreamerofdreams » Mon Dec 10, 2012 5:12 am

I have an eighth month old britt. She's always been very very good about potty training, especially when it comes to her kennel. She's never messed her crate once. Until now.

Two nights ago she peed in the bed. Last night, I crated her just to make sure this wasn't an issue. When I brought her out this morning, she didn't pee. So I went back and checked and, sure enough, she'd peed in the crate. Nothing else has changed that I can think of. Is this something I should be talking to the vet about (UTI or something?).

When a dog has a change in peeing habits , you have to consider a UTI. Easily fixed with some meds from the vet.

I bet it's UTI also.
Let us know what you find out.
I would use Natures Miracle or other enzyme nutralizer when you wash the bedding. Simply washing with laundry soap does not take the urine smell, to the dog, away.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be calling the vet shortly.

Also thanks for the natures miracle advice, I'd been wondering if just regular washing would be enough. How much do you put in?

She has not been spayed.

Went to the vet today - she's got crystals which has inflamed things, and the beginning of a UTI. We're increasing water intake and on some meds for the UTI and crystals. Will check back in two weeks.
