Some folks have asked for pics or inquired as to how my project is going, here you go.

Kennel building, 18'x21'.
Image
Front entrance, rear entrance has 60" door for moving large tools or equipment.
Image
4 5'x10' outside runs with trench drain in slab.
Image
Inside dog compartments.
Image
Jail house doors I built myself and had galvanized.
Image
Each compartment has 2' floor drain in right corner for wash out.
Image
Tile are through body porcelain, meaning they are the same color all the way through. Similar to what is on the space shuttle. Impervious to heat and cold with 0% absorption.
Image
Each compartment will have its own individual two piece hinged lid for easy access and cleaning.

If dogs manage to destroy it, which odds are good they will, it will be your Nat'l duty to call NASA.

Ah, what keeps the dogs in their run in the inside section? Good manners? I have 17" Boylins that could and would hop the top flat footed. It looks great and very well built, but I don't understand the low walls.

Very nicely done.

Well thought out and probably helpful to others looking for good ideas for a future kennel.

The runs are TK Products. Had planed on fabricating them myself with a heavier gauge wire, but doing all the work on this project myself became very labor intensive, especially when I kept coming up with more "bright ideas" . I was able to get a good enough deal on them and saved myself a few weekends of fabrication work.

Finally got back to work in the kennel after taking a break to care for the litter of pups and then run one of my pups in VJP. Here is what the dog compartments turned out like. All in need to do now is finish inside walls and run my permanent electrical circuits.

Is the base framed with 2 by 4's or is it concrete block with the tile overlaid? I like your setup a lot. Especially the doors! I used to weld in college, but not since. Maybe I could talk the shop kids into making me something like that!

It is all 8" block covered with tile. Exterior block walls are filled with insulation.

very nice work I hope to one day build a smaller version for 2 dogs but have been told I might as well go big so I have plenty of room to expand. Again very nice work.
