Puppy Biting

Looking for suggestions to help in the stopping of puppy biting. My boy is 9 weeks old and like a little alligator. He has plenty of chew toys, but if you try to pet him you get nothing but open teeth looking to chomp. I have never had a puppy who likes to bite so much. I have grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, and have tried folding his upper lip underneath. I will not hit him, and know sooner or later he has got to out grow this, but what can I do in the mean time.
Thanks in advance for any advice

stick a couple of fingers in his mouth and make him gag when he bites ...
...and no puppy was ever permanently damaged from a thump on the nose if he doesn't take it easy

Bite him on the nose. His mother would.

I just grab them, press their lips on their own teeth and growl 'NO'.

Doesnt take long for them to figure it out.

Before you go and start trying to teach him by the human way, teach the way dogs would. Puppies yelp and end the game when one of the puppies bites to hard. Try it next time your pup bites yelp like a puppy and ignore the pup for a few minutes. There is more to biting please read the article on the link below. I think it would help.

I dont know about you but most times I am observing a litter the biting continues until the biter looses interest or get put into his place.

You need to put the puppy in its place. Not only is it going to teach the puppy biting will not be tolerated but it will show puppy you are the dominant pack member not him.

get pup into kennel with other dogs his size. they will correct his biting quick.also the people there working will socialize the pup also.
my biting puppy was corrected about 90% in 1 day by doing this.
if not, i believe i would have had a biting adult dog.

RUN, DONT WALK AND DO AS I STATED.

I surely wouldn't squeal and let the pup think that he won. Do what Ken suggested but add a snarling noise. If you watch bitches correcting their young, this is exactly what they do.

+1 they need to know not to bite, you do not have to hit him.

Just grab him by the scruff and pin him down on the ground until he lies still when he bites, repeat if neede he WILL stop!
Also works to pick him up by the sruff and give him a little shake, repeat everytime he bites.
This way he will learn it is not acceptable to bite humans! My 2c

The sooner they learn you the alpha the better fot both of you!

Pure nonsense!! Sorry, no offense intended. Make that pup feel discomfort and a little pain when he bites. Chukar and others gave good advise.
