Dog kennels/runs
Dog kennels/runs
I am looking at some kennels and seeing if there is is better stuff out there cheaper than what I have now. As like some others I am building a indoor outdoor set-up this summer and was just seeing what might be the go to stuff....

Do not buy Options Plus. I have 4 runs all rusted out to the point of needing replaced completely in less than 3 years. I will be buying TK.

You need to at least look at the Doc Bob, formally AKC at Tractor Supply Company, some of mine are 10 years old with little rust, at about half the price and free shipping if picked up at the store. Not as heavy as the Behlin (sp) I also have, but much cheaper.
I like them so much I used them for stalls for my goats/mini horses.

I'd suggest you get ahold of a fence company. They can make panels to your specifications and do it cheaper than what you pay for prefabricated kennels, especially after you factor in shipping. Doesn't hurt to call and ask and it's free. If you go with chain link and you want it long-term, make sure you either go with 9 gauge fabric or 1" links.

Interesting... I have had mine for probley 5 to 7 years and not a problem. I wash my kennels down also??? I just seen that they have went up in price so much. I need to buy some more for the inside part of my set up.Fair Fields wrote:Do not buy Options Plus. I have 4 runs all rusted out to the point of needing replaced completely in less than 3 years. Re: Dog kennels/runs
This is what I was going to suggest as well. There is a company in Missouri not far from KC called Pro-built. I have their kennels and one of their dog houses and am very happy with them. They used heavy duty pipe and heavy chain link. They may build to your specs, be worth a call to find out.Stoneface wrote:I'd suggest you get ahold of a fence company.
