North to Alaska!

My 3yr old GSP and I are going to be driving from Pennsylvania up to Fairbanks, Alaska to spend 6months (apr. to sept.) Looking forward to Grouse and Ptarmigan hunting. I dont really have a specific question; just seeking wisdom/advice. Thanks.

She will travel in the cab of the truck with me. I'll have the truck box with me, but 4000 miles is a long and cold ride.

Well, I will be working for the first part of the trip. Grouse and ptarmigan season opens about the second week in August. I should be finished working by then. So I will have almost 2 full months to hunt. I wish hunting was my only reason for this trip, but unfortunately I'm not made of money.
