Post by jude » Wed Jan 30, 2013 7:44 pm

Took my 6 month old Brittany out to the woods for some training and hoping he would come across some woodcock but he found himself tangled up with a momma hog and her baby's .....he did some screaming and barking then came back with his nub between his legs :o

Glad he's alright! It's a good thing that those rabbits are quick. :D

Best to bell your dog in hog country. Javelins are extremely dangerous to bird dogs.

Who said anything about throwing javelins? If you mean javalinas (peccary), they are completely different than Feral Hogs. Which would be what the OP was refering to....

Hogs are bad news, I don't run hog dogs cause I don't like stitching up and burying dogs.

I do trap and shoot very hog I can and will gut shoot the lead hog just to keep them out of a food plot.
Glad your brit came out ok.
