AKC Registration?
AKC Registration?
Is there a reason to register a female that will be spayed?
Re: AKC Registration?
If you are going to do any dog games in the future, you have to have a registration number---hunt test, trials, rally, etc. Also if something happens and you have to give up the dog, it is easier to place a registered dog. Also some breeders require the dog to be registered for a health guarentee to apply.

All the buyers from past litters that spayed or nuetered didnt paper the dogs
Re: AKC Registration?
I'd register the dog.
Long ago, when I discovered Hunt Tests , I had an unregistered dog . I was very disappointed I couldn't participate with her. You never know what you might get interested in.

Re: AKC Registration?
All of mine are registered except the shelter pointer. Mine are all spayed or neutered as well. Nowadays you can enter AKC Hunt Tests with a PAL (limited registration) but it's easier if you just have the dog's original paperwork. Plus you get to name the dog something cool.

Most of my buyers don't register their spayed or neutered pups. I wish they would but it is their choice and of very little value. AKC wishes they would also. Cj

Re: AKC Registration?
If you ever hope to trial or compete in anything you need to be registered. That's good enough reason right there.
