New member here. My 5 year old healthy gsp is pooping a lot. Not very firm. I have been feeding native level 3, which I have read can be a problem with it. His performance is great and coat is good, but the amount and frequency of poop is a lot. He has been on this food for a few years and I have dealt with this issue before. Just curious about others opinions. Should I feed less, try probiotics, I've heard of pumpkin in the food can help, change foods, any other ideas, or not worry about it since he is healthy and performing well in the field. Any help is appreciated.

Cut the feed back and forget the additives. The feed has everything your dog needs without them. If you can't solve the problem with the loose stools by cutting back then occasionally a change in feed would help. But too much protein is a problem and it can be cut back by feeding less feed or feeding a feed with less protein in it.

Make sure you are not over feeding him. I feed level 3 to my gsp's 2 level cups in the am and the again 2 more cups in the pm but only in the winter then I switch to level 2 once we are done with the hunting season. They maintain their weight on this schedule for me.

Some dogs just don't digest foods well either for some reason.
