Where do you find the cheapest Frontline/Tick, flea guard?

Post by DogNewbie » Mon Apr 08, 2013 8:35 am

I've used Frontline in the past, but it's so expensive. Wondering if people like other brands better and if there are online sites that sell them cheaper than in-store. Thanks!

The Walmart brand is our choice. Same formula as the name brand, and same price regardless of which dose we use.
That being said, we buy the extra large dog doses and split them for our v's and Irish. Without a doubt most efficient way to take care of the 6+ we have at any time.

We do the same thing. I buy the XL Pet Armor dose at walmart and split between 3 dogs.

Looks like I'll have to get a second dog to save money! :D Is the walmart brand called PetArmor?

Not sure it's walmart brand, but yes, the generic is PetArmor. I pay $25 for 3 doses.

I think I'll try PetGuard out this season. It'll save me a good amount. From the small amount of research I did, it looks like the only difference in that FrontLine has (S)-Methoprene in it which doesn't kill the insects, just prevents them from reproducing. Is that correct? Seems like a small loss for $20 savings.

I buy the largest dose (for extra large dogs) I can and pour it in a small glass vial. I then use a plastic syringe to meter out the appropriate amount and store the vial in a drawer. I still use frontline plus because it works and I know my dogs don't have adverse reactions to it.

1800Petmeds, Jeffers, Allpetmed are just a few of the online sites I peruse for good pricing. They tend to be less expensive than any retail vendor.

Oh yeah... K9 Advantix II here...

You can't beat gun dog supply for training needs for your dogs, but I found Jeffers to sell a lot of dog supplies that GDS don't have are high on my wife uses pet meds on things for her cats like front frontline, which are usually cheaper than Jeffers. That's why suggested Jeffers pet stores and Walmart are usually a lot higher

Don't buy the cheapest, spend your money on the best............

Advantix II

Realize how expensive it is to treat Lyme's just once on your dog and accept the fact that
your dog very well may never be the same after contracting Lyme's.

Spending the money on something that WORKS is the easiest decision you'll ever make.

Can't believe the ground is covered again. I can't remember the last time the snow melted completely only to have one last storm drop ten more inches. Just nuts. Makes me worried for those pheasants.
