New GSP Club!

A few of us who love the GSP breed have started the United German Shorthaired Pointer Club with UKC! We are starting to take memberships and I am working with Todd at UKC to see what we need to do to get licensed to hold hunting events with UKC! We want to have a very diverse membership. I am slowly building our website and we are also on facebook. Please come join us!!!

What is the point of this? Lot of clubs with AKC and AF right now.

I thought UKC sanctioned hunting events under NSTRA, UFTA and HRC.

Don the point is that UKC is a different organization than AKC. Yes there are a lot of AKC clubs but there is no GSP club in UKC. And frankly I enjoy UKC a lot more than AKC. And many of their performance venues (not talking hunting) are more difficult than AKC. This club has nothing to do with AKC at all. No sanctions with AKC and we will not be pursuing anything with AKC. This is soley a UKC club.

UKC is sanctioned hunting events under NSTRA, UFT for pointing breeds. But from my understanding they are not UKC titles. Just that UKC will recognize those titles from those clubs. I could be wrong on that as well but that is my understanding.

HRC is the retriever club for UKC and we will not be holding HRC events just the pointing dog events to get things running with UKC pointing dog titles.

UKC acknowledges the NSTRA and UFTA titles but also has it's own pointing dog program (that is still growing.)

HRC is the UKC retriever program that has been open to ALL Gun Dog breeds since it's inception.
