Unfortunate the others died, eaten by yotes more than likely. I wonder what them collars cost?

When the bird stops moving they know it has died or been killed and they can go pick up the collars. I have no idea what they spend on the collars.

Is it possible that coyotes can hunt and kill them?

They dont hunt faster than a walk/trot and have no spotters either...

Maybe those are man made requirements :) :)

Article I read told about the ones didnt make it, one and only one did :) so far...... I doubt they will make a comeback here. Turkeys eat everything, deer are way to many.

I shot a radio tagged Sharp-tail one time. I knew who was doing the study in that area so I called him up - the bird was shot 15 miles from where it was tagged and monitored in the spring. Prior to this I had always considered we were hunting two separate and distinct populations of birds in the two areas.

Probably searching for suitable habitat. Not much in that region.
