Brittany Breeders
Brittany Breeders
I am looking for a Brittany Breeder; will be hunting pheasant, quail, and grouse ; maybe try shoot to retrieve trail ect; live in northern Illinois prefer someone close if possible but would travel a little for a quality dog; prefer smaller sized as will be indoors. I've looked at some polls , regarding Grouse dogs. The overlying census seems to be that the line of dogs is most relevant in choosing grouse dogs With that said were should one look ? Thanks again for all the information and opinions.

Re: Brittany Breeders
Try Chad Holman. He lives in Whittington, Illinois and has some of the best Brittanys in the country. 618-629-2175

Re: Brittany Breeders
I believe I remember similar posts of recent. You can do a search near the top right. There are some very very nice Brittany breeders to choose from
Re: Brittany Breeders
Contact the LaSalle Brittany Club. It is one of the biggest clubs in the country and are centered right here in our area. There are some pups on the ground now I believe and there are many breeders who belong.

Re: Brittany Breeders
Depending on how far north in IL you are there are two Brittany Clubs in WI may may be of some use.

I know one of these clubs is sponsoring brittany grouse trial starting next week in WI if you're interested in seeing some brittanies running one wild birds. There is also the National Brittany Open Championship being run at the Gladwin grounds in MI this weekend.

Re: Brittany Breeders
You need to at least talk with Chad, his number is above. I have been buying pups from the Holmans since 1971,

Also might try Gene Salmons in Liberty, IL. He is a client of mine and has some great dogs in my opinion. Google Nevene kennels and you should find him.
Re: Brittany Breeders
Any of the breeders that were mentioned so far i would agree with but i would lean towards Chad Holman.
Re: Brittany Breeders
Only problem with Chad, he is 3 or 400 miles south of us. Gene is associated with the Heart of Illinois Brittany Club, which is much closer, but they are all good.whatsnext wrote:Any of the breeders that were mentioned so far i would agree with but i would lean towards Chad Holman.

Re: Brittany Breeders
I know it is a little distance but there are some pups in Ohio that are ready to go to new homes. They are Ajax NLB bred pups...it is a repeat breeding and the first litter are making some chukar hunters in Nevada extremely happy
