name question
I have heard that you don't want your hunting dogs name beginning with the letter S. is there any truth to that?

Re: name question
The thought of some is that any word starting with s or o etc - command words- confuse the dog as they sound like sit, whoa etc..Some believe the dog only hears the initial sound.
I think it is valuable to name your dog with sounds that aren't "verbally swallowed" in the field, like words ending with
most consonants. Words ending in a long vowel carry the longest in the field.
Mayyyy, Ray....., Lee, Hugh, Zor
Two syllable names can have a silent beginning- Ringo, Dexter, Rudy
, Lucky, Lucy
** I have no idea if there is any validity to this theory.
