My dog pees in command.

Is that THAT weird?
I should make a shirt printed "my dog pees on command"on the front, and "freak" on the back.

Is it really that weird? (didn't i already ask that?)

WHY is it so strange, and foreign an idea to other people?

Out of all 50+ tricks she knows... "peepee" or "poopoo" is definitely one of the most useful ones.

Why do "you" people look at me like i'm the devil, when i ask my dog to poop, and she does?
Seriously, stop bothering me on my walks, literally touching me to get my attention, just to laugh and point out how my dog just pooped on command.
I know she did, now leave me alone. You are the reason, and the ONLY reason, why i regret loving the city life.

Am i alone here? And of you feel my pain on this subject?

If yes... Do you relate to these issues?

My dog can never be boarded at a kennel or watched by anybody who hasn't been "trained" how to "handle" my dog.
(example: She will not urinate or defecate, unless commanded too. (Unless my own backyard) Even if it means a trip to the vet with an infection from holding it in so long in a new environment. She will also not eat, until i say. This usually leaves people baffled..and my dog very hungry and frustrated.)

I have to find a place ALONE to let my dog go to the bathroom in peace. Or i have to whisper for her to go to the bathroom.
Seriously people, leave me be. We are going to the bathroom here!

Rant over...

You're not alone!
Mine do too!
Useful when you just want the dog to take a break, or empty before a drill or test or exercise!

I just have a command "Do it" and she eliminates whatever she is holding. She will do her business whenever she feels the need when in an appropriate place or ask to go out. I just find it useful to have the command so she is ready for a long car ride.

Service dogs for the blind have always been trained this way, as are many military and working SAR and police dogs. Sadly, you will have to get over yourselves.

So does mine, but does yours shake on command? After an outside wash down after a run, before being towelled down , mine are told to "shake!" They will do it on command up to 6 times before saying, " That's it. I'm getting dizzy." :)

I trained my lab to do that. It's "go potty" and "go poop".

The three of you plus a few thousand other. It is common that indoor dogs are taught that. Back to the drawing board if you want to be special.

I thought my male to squat to pee. You can teach a dog anything, that doesn't make you special.

Get over myself?! You just major complimented me!

You compared my "pet dog" trained my me alone, with no assistance from the pros that train SAR and PDk9s.. you compared us to service dogs, military dogs, working SAR dogs!
Thanks for the compliment!
Love you! <3

I use shake to piss of my family members. ;)

It works best around those family members that rant off on "How this place is gone to the dogs. All this fur. I hate dogs, why cant you be normal. Why don't you have children instead"
;)
Have fun!

..failure to understand that my OP was a rant in frustration due to the people who DON'T train their dogs who in turn laugh and harass me...

Anyways, thanks to the people who DID help me feel a little better, by being NICE and chatting kindly with me about how their dog has a silly peepee command also. :)

To those people ONLY.
Do people "harrass" you when they hear you saying your peepee poopoo commands? Or is it just me?

People with untrained dogs are always amazed when they see dogs do things they are told.

Delmar Smith actually addressed the topic in his training book. It is not something unusual.
Look at it as an opportunity to educate.

I'm sick and tired of people running up to me, making fun of me saying "peepee" ECT.

Yeah, they do. Like about the dogs killing things when that's their job. Or shock collars.

OMG that reminds me of what happened last weekend! Why i didn't post about it i don't know.
I had a quests over, and i found out that hard way that they didn't like e collars...
Ill post a new thread about that though!

By the way, though i think you get it now..
I wasn't bragging about my dog peeing on command. -.- I was ranting because i was UPSET because i'm tired of people harassing me. Strangers literally will walk up to me and laugh. Like my neighbor kept saying "peepee go peepee" and laughing. Its upsetting, just leave me be, a dog peeing on command ISN'T THAT funny or weird. Stop harassing about it..
That why i posted, to maybe get some comfort from people who have dealt with that.
Instead i got people saying "your not so special." :/

What would you recommend for all of the uneducated do ? Maybe instead of bugging you they could get on a forum of some type and make an "bleep" out of themselves. That should solve your problem.

Exactly. Or about how he's not on a leash, or if I say here he has to come. Or that he stays in the truck on command, or gets in it on command...

The average American dog is untrained, without anything meaningful to do, and overweight. Just like the average American. They think a dog that can sit on command is well trained. (that's something else I get harassed for, not teaching my dogs sit) so anything above and beyond is beyond their comprehension. We all get harassed and made fun of for it.

If I made a thread on here every time someone was shocked, rude, critical, whatever of how my dogs are trained, I'd make several a day.

Exactly! I have been called a control freak and probably other things because my dogs obey commands. Some have been impressed, but for the wrong reasons. After seeing one of my dogs obeying commands, a typical response from these people would be "wow, he sure is smart isn't he". I have also been accused of being cruel because my dogs don't stay in the house. I just ignore most of these people.

Anyone wasting my time giving me their unsolicited opinions on how I should live my life.

Especially those that choose to imply that I'm an irresponsible or unkind dog owner because I don't train the way that they think I should, and I actually enforce the commands I give.

The vast majority of those that are in the first group also fall into the second.

Giggle a bit, i have had teens and young adults walk away yelling "peepee" and laughing. Some adults stop and comment about how my dog pees on command.
I had headphones in, and literally had them pulled out of my ear, just so a person could comment on that, and then laugh...
Even my friends have made fun of it. "Well kiba will just have her dog #hit in his bed, you can do that for us right kiba!? Poopoo poopoo"
And they all laugh. :/
WTF. Its not THAT weird. Why does this happen to me?
I mean, "giggle a bit" would be one thing..

I have had multiple people imply i am "mean, cruel ECT". Because of all the dog activities i do. And because i train my dog.
It really upsets me!
What usually helps is talking with other dog people about it.

If you're not like most people a thick skin helps. I've never really fit in with most people, so I'm used to it.
