Gun Dog Forum

Thought this might be a cool thing to share with you. I had the opportunity to take on a commercial spot wearing my hunting gear and have my favorite dog by my side (sort of ). Even tried to give the local NAVHDA chapter I belong to a free plug by wearing our hat.
They liked how the dog and I did during the video takes and a few more commercials for the station might be in the future.

I did suggest using an over and under for the commercial, but the TV station didn't want to have a gun for this product spotlight. The commercial would be airing during evening newscasts. The probability of the news reporting about a gun incident involving injury or death would be likely in this day and age. It would also be likely that some viewers might get confused when they hear the report and then it breaks into the commercial showing a hunter with a gun. To not give mixed signals, the station wanted to try and not have a gun this time around. Everyone knows it would be a different circumstance if it were cable...

The very least one could say I am portraying an outdoor enthusiast during the hunting season out running my dog on public land and nothing more. No app required....

This is also a milestone with this particular TV station: they never created a commercial that was geared toward the outdoor enthusiast, especially hunters. Joking aside, I think that a positive step within a huge market that will be home to Pheasants Forever's 2014 Pheasant Fest.

I am glad Morgen didn't screw up her lines either

So far I have never been in a commercial that required lines. But if I did, my professional background would kick in. It was fun and the takes with the dog went really well. I am glad I gave her the opportunity this year to be a dual hunting dog. She calmed down when it counted and still kept her desire.
