to approved bitches.
to approved bitches.
Stud avalible to approved bitches. What does it take for the approval in your minds? I've read the stud dog thread, and was just curious about the other half of the pair.
Re: to approved bitches.
The same things.
Re: to approved bitches.
lol.. makes sence. Just that it seems that the studs usually has more titles or higher level titles than the females in a fair amout of breedings.

Re: to approved bitches.
There are a lot of people that won't or don't run females in tests or trials because of then coming in season, always seems to happen at the wrong times!
Re: to approved bitches.
Used to be that the bitch was considered to be only the incubating vessel. We've learned a lot since then about the importance of the female half.( dogs and women )

Re: to approved bitches.
An avatar of your dog on point without a checkcord????
Other than that, what was in the other thread.

Re: to approved bitches.
What does a picture of my dog with a check cord on have anything to do with the question at hand? Is that really a deciding factor of bitch approval for you.
Re: to approved bitches.
I thought you were either talking about bill Clinton or an advertisement for a gentle mans club.
Re: to approved bitches.
If I had a Bitch to breed to your dog, you better believe it does. If I'm gonna breed a bitch do I want to breed to a dog that needs to be on a CC to take a pic, or do I breed to a dog holdng wild birds without a CC with a frontal pic?Tika V wrote:What does a picture of my dog with a check cord on have anything to do with the question at hand? WHile I would never go off of a random post on the internet to breed a dog, I certainly would pick a random Stud without a CC pic.
Re: to approved bitches.
Holy tomale gentlemen. The OP just asked a reasonable question. What do you look for in the bitch part of the equation?

The OP certainly is vague, and opens opinions to all based on him having a Stud available... Then asking for approval in our minds...
Re: to approved bitches.
I missed that part ..."stud available". Sorry.
Re: to approved bitches.
Np Sharon. I'd totally let my dog Stud yours. You have nice avatars without a CC.
Re: to approved bitches.
Let me clarify> "stud to approved bitches" is usually what you here from those that have a stud to offer. i simply was asking what the approved part would consit of. I have no stud to offer. gesh..
Re: to approved bitches.
If you got the money, my boys got the time!!!
Re: to approved bitches.
First, I want appropriate health clearances. For Brittanys, a passing OFA score and CERF. For me, I want to see a dual quality bitch...nice conformation and field ability. Titles aren't necessarily important, but potential is to me. There are also lines that cross well, and lines that don't, or when doubled up, produce health issues. I won't cross with a line that has produced health issues in the past.
I guess the bottom line is if I wouldn't want a puppy out of the breeding, the bitch isn't "approved" in my mind.

I think for someone wanting to stud their dog out unless its a FC they'd be pretty hard pressed to be able to "picky" about who uses their stud

Re: to approved bitches.
To be 100% honest in my mind if I have a stud, I want to make sure the female doesnt carry anything she is gona pass on to my boy, and I want cash..... Other than that, in truth I have no real concerns.
If I have a female i'm looking to breed, my biggest concern is can I get rid of a litter of pups, so i want to do everything I can to make that litter appealing and marketable, Usually that includes doing my homework, and looking at lineage, and other issues, because if I cant sell the pups its either lights out yeller, or I'm feeding a bunch more dogs.
As the owner of the stud (within reason of course) I have to assume the owner of the female has done their homework and knows what they are getting into, ask for cash up front and send the boy to "work".

Probably not well worded but Sharon had it right. What do you look for in a female if you have a stud available?Postby Tika V » Yesterday, 17:15
