Breeding Boxes

Post by Duckdog » Sun Nov 17, 2013 8:41 am

I'd like to add a few breeding boxes to my pigeon loft. I'd like to keep them as small as possible, so what would you say is the absolute minimum size I could build and still be functional?
Thanks.

I've used Milk Crates with a Piece of wood in the front, I zip tied them together.
Thanks,
Joe

I build 12"X12"X12" cubes and they work just fine for me.

Mine aren't very big, maybe 6" x 10" inside space, but the pigeons have no problems raising 2 chicks in them. They are removable plastic feed troughs, and slip over a 2x4.

If you are talking breeding boxes they must be tall enough for the male tread on the female. If you mean nesting boxes almost anything works. Best if they are defendable. Some times the other pigeons kill the babies......................................Cj
