so Im bout 6 months new to pigeons and you folks on here have helped me out a bunch so here is another question. Do you fly your birds in extreme cold? it is about 16 deg here today and we have about 1/2 in of snow it is supposed to warm up to about 24 deg later.is it too cold should I let them save their energy. second question is about feeding do you free feed your birds in the winter or just up the amount you give them?
Thanks.

Re: feeding and flying pigeon in the cold
I always feed from a full feeder....always let 'em fly if predators are not an issue.
A few hawks will zero in during the winter, just as they do on "bleep" feeders.
Good for them, they get hungry too.
I did give whole corn at one time but never saw it mattered much.
Mostly, pigeons live under a bridge just fine.
