Gun X shortage

Post by chicken19590 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 5:33 pm

No one has this starter pistol in stock, not even the Gun X web site. I ask why?

Guns are strowly trickleling in. They are having a hard time getting parts to make the guns. There will also be a slight design change next year, but I'm not sure exactly what's changing, or exactly how that affects current supply. GunX is a single person operation, and the guy has a pretty high demand for guns since they seem to be the best guns on the market. Hopefully he will get caught up in the future and get the back orders reduced.

What I can say for sure is their customer service is fantastic. But since it's a one person show, he doesn't always answer the phones.

Thanks for the info. I was not aware that it was a one man show at Gun-X. I used the alfa at a training day and it is too heavy for me. Had a kimar and it lasted less than 100 rounds. Will make due with the 22 pot iron gun until things change and there are gun x to buy.

I emailed gunx and got an email the next day asking me to call them. I did and talked to the owner and his story is just as Jetjockey said, parts problem and back order they are trying to fill. Owner also said that price point may become a problem as his parts supplier want more $ ( some evern dropped him)but he needs to keep price in the $189-$210 range to be competitive and still produce the best high end starter pistol out there. Well it ends up that he did have a few 209's that he will release to people like me wanting and asking about his product so there is a 209 trainer on the way to me and hope it will last my lifetime and my sons lifetime. I used an alfa at the last trial I went too and it is a fine gun but to heavy for me, I have barrowed an H&R and NEF at trials and the Gunx is the closes thing to one of then and may in time prove to be better.
