So I bit the bullet and forked over the cash. What refresh rate do you guys and gals have yours set at 5,10,30 seconds or 2 minutes and why

I keep both of mine on the five second refresh. It is particularly convenient on my bigger running pointer and even with my closer working vizsla when hunting heavy cover. In open terrain, especially if your dog works close, it may not be necessary. The drawback to a faster refresh rate is shorter battery life, but well worth it in my opinion.

I also use the 5 second refresh rate. I have never had an issue with battery life and it downloads our runs into a nice clean route on base camp. Also if you have a bigger running dog the faster rate helps keep the indicator and data accurate or maybe a better statement is that is more real time. I don't see a reason to use the slower rates unless you are running big and doing multiple hunts without a recharge
