Sportdog S400 problems

Post by trigger1989 » Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:08 pm

I've had this collar for about 2 years and its worked like a champ, until now.... the only time the collar receives signal from the remote is when its literally a few feet apart. when I go a little further than a few feet the beep and stimulation don't work. even when its freshly charged. do I have any hope of fixing this? I ordered a new battery for the remote because it seems like when I press the buttons the light that lights up is a hair dim but that could be its normal brightness and I have just never noticed it until now. if you guys have any advice or experience with something like this I am all ears, thanks a lot

For $400.00 , I'd send it to the Collar Clinic for repair. Run you around $100.00 , and for me would be well worth it to get another couple of years of use.

I have always bought things like collars from LL Bean. If something happens, they offer to refund your money or send you a new one, no questions asked.

Collar clinic doesn't repair sport dog. I had the same problem it was the collar it self not the remote. The collar has been discontinued and your only hope is that someone has old new stock or ebay but for what you are going to pay you might look at the sport dog 425. Good luck. The sport dog s 400 is a $160 set up as is the 425 the 425 has vibe where the 400 doesn't and they are not compatible with each other. The 00 series collars where and the collars ending with 25 are but just not with each other. When my 425 goes bad I'm jumping to tri tropics. A lot of friends have tt and have good luck. It seems the cheaper sport dog collars are about a 2 or 3 year collar with some getting more luck and some less.

I have had a beeper go bad on a discontinued SportDog collar, they tracked one down and sent it to me no charge. I also had an old beeper that had been out of warranty for a long time, they gave me a great deal on a new one and I sent them the old one. I would call them and see what they can do!
