You can tell best how much to feed by looking at the dog. I feed a 40+ pound male britt 2 cups of PPP a day and a 35 or so pound dog about 1-3/4, my two females 30 pounds or so bet a cup a day. This is total, not twice, once per day. They are performance dogs and trained/roaded consistently. They stay pretty healthy at those feeding levels though they are increased slightly in exceptional cold or extended hunting trips. The dog in your avatar does not look too thin.

If they still look lean then feed more, if they start putting on weight then cut back or add more exercise. They aren't any different then us. The more we exercise the more we need to eat (assuming we are not already over weight). I feed my gsp 3 cups a day plus snacks and he is lean and mean but he is still young and gets plenty of exercise.

They were getting a lot of exercise but with "15 of snow on the ground they are not getting enough. I think I will cut back a little till I can start running them again.

Thanks

I only feed once a day after they are 6 months old. The amount depends on the quality of the feed and the level of activity, whatever it takes to keep their weight right with firm stools.

Yes, they're plenty old enough to feed once a day instead of twice.
