Any trialers in central Iowa

Post by dsmtsi » Tue Mar 25, 2014 6:57 am

I'd like to tag along to a walking trial. I'm willing to travel and would like to walk a brace with the handler to get a better idea of how situations are handled. I'm leaning towards NSTRA or AKC but open to any walking trial.

In AKC you will not be allowed to walk with the handler---you can walk along in the gallery(stays BEHIND the judges). I'd find a knowlegable trialer in the gallery to explain things to you as they are happening. Or after the brace, talk to the handler and have him explain things that happened in the brace--good or bad.
Since NSTRA is a live fire event--you will probably not be allowed in the bird field---but a lot of clubs have viewing areas to watch.
