A dog book?

Post by MNTonester » Thu Mar 27, 2014 5:57 pm

I've thrown this request out over the years. Maybe someone here knows the title of the book I'm trying to find. It is a collection of dog stories and I can't for the life of me remember the title but it was very enjoyable. Two of the stories involved a Chesapeake Bay retriever who needed an occasional meeting of the minds with its owner; the other involved a black lab owned by a mean hearted owner who abandoned the dog under some bad hunting conditions and the dog was rescued and loved by its new owner who felt obligated to at least try to find its owner - but fortunately could not. Jog anyone's memory?

Sounds like a good read, but I don't recognize it.
I would like to know the title also.

I'm not sure if this is the one, but I'm going to order it anyway because it looks like a good read. Thanks for the tip

Afield is a recent anthology. Rick Bass and Tom Brokaw were included in the authors.
