Kennel Building Rust
I know many of you also have pole barns as your kennel building. My metal siding is beginning to rust badly along the bottom - primarily where my males have been kept. Currently this is painted metal. It is to the point it needs replaced or covered. Any ideas?
Would galvanized be better?
Any PVC or composite siding product that would cover?

You could look into "Hardy Board" which is a concrete composite material that is doing great in my kennels. I looks like normal wood lap siding but it never needs painting.

Any chance of getting pictures of your kennel setup?AZ Brittany Guy wrote:You could look into "Hardy Board" which is a concrete composite material that is doing great in my kennels. I looks like normal wood lap siding but it never needs painting.

Here is a pic of one of my young guys modeling a harness. I think you can get a good idea of what the Hardy Board looks like in the background.RichK wrote:Any chance of getting pictures of your kennel setup?AZ Brittany Guy wrote:You could look into "Hardy Board" which is a concrete composite material that is doing great in my kennels. I have been wondering if one painted the metal (in my case on the dog houses) with bed liner, would that help protect the metal better than standard paint?

Re: Kennel Building Rust
Here is my original setup (pic attached).
I should have put a few rows of block, but my metal goes to the ground. With my male urinating on it, it has started to rust. I hate to replace a 12 ft sheet of metal for 2-3 inches of rust! These are 5 years old and I will be doing the same in 5 years if I just replace it.
