Recall funnels

Building our first recall pen. Can I use a chukar recall funnel for quail? I know I can get chukar just about anytime (a guy down the street raises them), I'm going to have to search for Quail, so would like a dual-purpose recall pen.

I think that quail are going to get out through your Chukar funnel. I would put two funnels on the pen, a quail size, and a chukar size. On the outside of the pen I would mount a door that would close over the outside of the funnel when not in use. Then you could just open the appropriate door at the appropriate time. The door will also keep predators out.

I believe that's a good idea rinker.

The larger the recall funnel, the larger the predator can be and still get in the JH with the birds.
