bug bites

Post by ibbowhunting » Tue Jun 24, 2014 4:28 pm

Is there any type of homemade or manufactured bug spray for dogs, I own two Britts and my young male is getting bit up by what i would call noseeums, they don't seem to bother my older female nearly as much, he loves to be outside but the bugs are really bothering him, so I keep him inside more then he would like, I met a person that used so sort of homemade spray, she claimed it really helped, any input would be great

Absorbine horse spray. It's labeled for dogs, too. Get it at TSC.

I used Frontline for a while for ticks and my old shorthair got eaten alive much in the same way. I switched to Advantix per the Vet and the bites really subsided.

I only use this in the MTS because we just don't have the problem lower in altitude here- I either make one from a Pymetherin concetrate or have used the spray for the Horses.
