What are some of the best dog houses?
What are some of the best dog houses?
I am 90 percent sure that I am going to build a couple above ground kennels. I have not decided what type of dog house to
attach at the end of the kennel. What do you all prefer?

ive always thought if a guy could afford it build a small shed and have kennels on 3 sides then have counters on the inside on all 3 sides with chainlike running underneath then have the chain link high enough on the bottom you can slide dishes underneath for easy feeding then make your dog doors so you can keep dogs in our out of the shed. when i finally decide on my next house this is my intention if you want to get really nice have a concrete pad poured for kennels and the shed. but as far as above ground dog houses i love my barrels i have a sunning rest on top and my dogs all love them

I've got a K9 Kondo Dog Den 3. As for what makes it so nice...
It's made out of steel, which is nice with my power chewer Lab. Insulated on all 6 sides. Raised up off the ground. Has a swinging door with a rain shroud. And a removable roof, which makes it really easy to add or change bedding.

More reasons for K9 Kondo-
5 year limited warranty- never had to use it, but it is there!
Flat roof- my GSP's love to lay up there and sleep, and they get a little extra exercise every time they jump up and down. It also makes a nice flat elevated place to check the dog out, extra petting, etc!
Mine last about 7 years...more for females that don't use the sides as a marking post!
Will accept a heater- I may install one this next winter for a 14 year old female-at her age, she may need a little extra help to keep warm.
I use the Dog Den 2 for 60-70 lb GSPs- I think the size is optimal for roominess and body heat retention in the winter.
Good product!
