Cool looking Pigeon

Post by CCBIRDDOGMAN » Wed Jul 09, 2014 7:26 am

I thought I would share a picture of my black pigeon, never seen one that looks like this. His mom is a darker gray color and his dad is pure white. Same mom & dad have two babies right now that just hatched a week ago & one looks like it will be black also.

I have a few blacks, they're pretty cool. I want to breed a line of domino birds for my training.

I like the grizzle better too. had a really nice one and the "bleep" hawks got it. But not before it had kids. Now I have a really nice red grizzle!

I guess I need to take more pictures of my birds, I have a few of those white ones with gray splotches.

We have a nice grizzle hen who is our top baby maker and is one of our best homers. Hope the merlins don't get her. There are 3 young ones and the parents can hardly keep up feeding them. I'm nervous to let my homers out, but have only lost one so far. It was a youngster who didn't trap one evening. Never saw him again. Thanks for posting pics of your birds.

Ive had homers all summer one pair has laid eggs twice now sat on them for about 3 weeks then abandoned them... was hoping to have a few more pigeons by now.
Sorry to jack the thread seemed like a few pigeon experts in the mix!
