4 Mo GWP Pup escape artist

Post by powbass@gmail.com » Mon Jul 21, 2014 7:02 pm

The pup has learned to escape between my legs when I exit his kennel with me carrying the poop scooping equip. He dozen't run off Yet?, Any ideas ? Thinking about the willow switch. I have tried the nose bumping on his crate to no avail.

Teach Sit or stand until released. Certainly no switch on a 4 Mo old pup.

One time training a Vizsla who wouldnt come i took off a shoe and threw it not trying to hit him, just to make a point ...ofcourse it hit the dog, not hard but it scared him.

It was a setback (which was overcome)

treats work better

When he bolts for your legs, boot him with the side if your foot and give a good loud NO! Should just take once or twice.

Boot him a little and use the command "Back". Say it going and coming through the gate, he will get it.
