To many remotes

Post by oldbeek » Mon Aug 25, 2014 9:32 pm

This is the kind of thing old guys do. Was out training my pup and wanted to get a picture of her pointing. NO helper. Equipment = e-collar remote, launcher remote with no lanyard, camera with lanyard on wrist and shot gun. Pup points perfect, I snap picture then launch the pigeon. With all this gear I drop the launcher remote into a tumble weed. The camera gets in the way so I miss the pigeon. In disgust at missing the shot, I gather up launcher and head back to the truck. Good session any way. Didn't miss the launcher remote until the next morning. Oh crap! Which tumble weed did I drop that remote into? The field was just 160 acres and I never plant in the same place. After 2 hours of searching I luckily found my empties that I launched in disgust. That narrowed the search to about 20 tumble weeds. Found it! Time for another lanyard around my neck. One for the camera also.

I lost the launcher transmitter once in the fields so then I couldn't find the launcher. Now I paint flaming orange on most everything.

I have an e collar remote somewhere out on our lease in Oklahoma. I know what pasture we were in but it's a 1,200 acre pasture. Cost me $160

Why can't Tri-Tronics put an attachment point on any of their transmitters?

Put the e-collar and launcher transmitters on same lanyard, ditch the camera and take care of business.

I know right? Blew my mind when I got my classic G3. Didn't even occur to me to look for a lanyard hole in the list of features, figured there had to be one!
