GUN VAULT STORAGE SYSTEM

Post by Ms. Cage » Wed Oct 22, 2014 9:38 am

]Had a new gun vault storage system built for the back of my truck. The set up was built by a good friend , Brent Carey ( Cabinets By Design ) . The wood we used is on the extreme side. We used is 3/4 " maple plywood for the sides, top and bottom . Drawers are solid maple laminated to prevent warping , dove tail joints on drawers for superior strength, ball bearing slides, and faced the drawers with American walnut. We used outdoor carpet on the top. Front molding is solid maple . The vault is made for take down gun case. Will fit 4 guns easy or 5 birds launchers. We went with the shorty to utilize more space in the pick up box. We still need to install vault lock and partition the other drawer. Then I wrapped the whole cabinet in a 2014 Ram eco desiel 4 x4. Brent has decided to start building the system for the public. Built to your specs. We'll have more info up on our website in a couple of days.

Way nice. You'll have room for everything in there for sure. Gotta love the "wrapper" you put around it.

Southwind ,
Very nice vault. I am having trouble reading the fender of your truck. Is that the new eco diesel? If so, how do you like it, and what kind or real world fuel mileage do you get with it?
Yes, truck is the ecodiesel . Ram rates the truck 4x4 at 27 mpg on the highway. Howie been looking at the ecodesiel for awhile. Went on ram forum and found out the truck was doing much better then rated . Howie picked the truck up in Chippawa Falls Wi . 220 miles from home. The only 2 cities he had to go through were Superior Wi. and Duluth Mn. Millage was 31.4 highway Howie . Combined has been 27.3, City 25.3 hand calculated . Our 07 Tacoma was getting 21 mpg hwy. Even with the difference in price gas vs. diesel we're saving money. Howie can not wait until deer season so he can hook up to a 28' travel trailer and pull it 50 miles to where his buddies hunt and check the pulling power.

Southwind and marysburg , Howie loves the truck. quiet smooth ride. The only thing Howie will change to the suspension is install 5000 lb. air bags in the rear. Plains are to buy a pop up camper for the box and pull our dog trailer. I'm told to take my vacation time next fall. Were hunting Montana and the Dakota's
