My son in laws lab coughs and sneezes early in the duck hunting season especially on opening day. She has done this every year but it seemed worse this year. After several retrieves she starts coughing and kind of sneezes or it might be called reverse sneeze. kind of makes her act as if she is gagging. She does not do this when hunting pheasant. it does seem to get better as she gets in better shape but we have seen her get this way later in the season. He has taken her to the vet but the vet always says it sounds like kennel cough, which it cant be as it only happens once she hunts this specifc spot. Here is what I think.
An allergy to something in the water or the plants right in that area.
water in ear canal draining into the throat. I have suggested some water absorbing drops which I think he might listen this time.
Sooo I was hoping all of you could give me some thoughts.

Re: Lab coughing and sneezing during hunt
I would say an algae allergy- I have a pointer that has some problems around a specific plant on the CRP- I can tell ahead of time when i's going to happen
