Gundog Blankets and pillows

Post by jcbuttry8 » Mon Nov 17, 2014 4:57 pm

Hello All,

I have a friend that is into making gundog blankets and pillows. I have had her make me some with pointers. She is searching for other fabrics but as u can imagine they are hard to find. These are not normal fabrics or pillows u find in the store. These are specialty items. She is searching for good fabrics of other breeds but if any of you know where to find them let me know. These are hand made so don't expect perfection. Here are the pillows and blankets I have from her. if you have any interest pm me and I will get you prices and availability on breed specific fabric. I can only do two at a time so check the other posts.

Tell her to check eBay. Besides looking for yardage fabrics there, suggest she also look for bed sheets, vintage draperies, and clothing items that she can use in her projects.

Those pillows are awesome, too bad they don't have setters on 'em.

Yeah. Then those of us with good taste could enjoy them too.

But the cockleburs would then stick to the pillows~

The pillows at this point are $25. She's working on bringing that price down. As for blankets and wall hangers, pricing on that will very. She's willing to make to order. Allowing anyone to pick the fabric for the front of the blanket. You'd be able to pick blanket filling to make it a thicker, warmer blanket. You can pick your backing. Fleece, cotton. Camo fleece, one color fleece or cotton. From a throw blanket which would be the cheapest to a standard bed blanket, queen, King. Again, she will make it to your specifications. So, with that, pricing really depends on what you are looking for. Both my blankets were bigger. both standard. The yellow blanket with just a backing. The pointer blanket has material in the middle making it thicker and warmer.

Why don't you see if she can make an ordering form that includes all of the options and post it here on the board. I would be interested in several items if I knew what options I have and the cost.

She's actually working on it. I kind of surprised her with what I have gotten in responses. Ive told her to put together a list of prices and options. I'll post it as soon as I get it.

I have a list of prices and options she has so far. pm me your email and Ill send you the list and prices. The blankets are going to be expensive. The materials alone for them are over 100. She's not thinking those will sell. I have done two blankets. Both turned out amazing. Yes expensive but I like them.
