Found my next pup

Post by bwire » Fri Dec 05, 2014 3:16 pm

My oldest dog is 10 and he is hunting well but I have been looking for another vizsla for a while now (the 6 year old is doing great, too). It took some time and I've declined a pup a couple of weeks ago but I finally found a litter I like and will be getting one of the two males. The breeder is in TX and at first I wasn't sure about getting a puppy from so far away (I'm in PA). But things have a way of working out and the breeder works for an airline and will fly with the dog to PA from TX to deliver him. His name will be RedPointe's Nittany Lion Champion and go by Champ. He'll be ready for me at the end of January and the everybody is excited to have him in our family.

I think he needs one more point for his field trial title.

These two dogs are from some lines I was looking at who are in the VA area. Funny I had to find what I wanted in TX and they got their start a couple hours from home.

That pedigree on the male is insane!

Fieldways, Bitterroot, Semper Fi.

In the vizsla/gundog world this is a world class breeding.

Look at all of these Vizsla Club of America "National Dog of The Year" http://vcaweb.org/breed/dog_of_the_year.shtml

That will be a big running bird finding machine. Good luck with the pup.

That is what I was thinking. Plus the dam has her SH title and 10 field trial placements so far. The Dam's mother now has her field trial title as well. The breeder may be from TX but her dogs are from the east and have roots in the lines I was looking for.

Did you get one of these pups?

I reached out to Amy and they are all spoken for.

Yes, we are getting top pick on one of the two males. I got lucky and one person who wanted a male pulled out and I was able to take that spot.

I just saw that the mother of the dam of this litter is now a dual champion. She got her field title in December.

We got Champ at the end of January and he is now 13 weeks old. I had him out on Friday and got him on some holdover pheasants hanging out in the pine trees.
